WOODBRIDGE, Va. – A 17-year-old male died in a car crash Sunday morning in Prince William County.
The collision occurred at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Featherstone Road near Walnut Street in Woodbridge. According to authorities, the teen was driving eastbound in the 1200 block of Featherstone when he attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a building, rolling over onto its roof. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. Investigators believe excessive speed was a contributing factor.
The teen was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that night. Lane closures were in effect during the investigation.
