CROCKERY TWP., Mich. — A 15-year-old girl was killed in a crash in Crockery Township on Tuesday night.
Authorities said an 18-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, striking a tree on State Rd. west of 112th St. around 10:30 p.m. The driver and his front-seat passenger, a 17-year-old male, were wearing seatbelts and sustained no injuries.
A 15-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were seated in the rear cargo area of the vehicle and were not restrained, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office. Upon impact, the girl was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy suffered no injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. No additional details regarding the crash have been released at this time.
