Stillwater Boy, 11, Dies Days After Electric Scooter Collision
BAYTOWN TOWNSHIP, MN — An 11-year-old boy died Saturday, Oct. 7, following a collision while riding an electric scooter, according to authorities.
Authorities report Kai Yoo of Stillwater sustained critical injuries in the accident near 40th Street North and Paradise Avenue North. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Yoo was a 6th grader at St. Croix Preparatory Academy. The school released a statement expressing sorrow over his loss, stating, “Kai was a valued member of the Prep community… our hearts go out to Kai's family, friends, classmates, and all who knew and loved him.”
The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. Further details regarding the crash and any potential injuries to other parties involved have not been disclosed.
No lane closures or hazardous conditions have been reported in the area.
