HEAD-ON COLLISION FATALITY REPORTED ON HIGHWAY 50
EL DORADO COUNTY, CA — A head-on collision on Highway 50 resulted in one fatality on October 8 at approximately 2:41 p.m.
Authorities reported that two vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred in the westbound lanes near the exit to Greenstone Road. The collision claimed the life of a woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers arrived shortly after the incident to manage traffic and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicles collide with significant force, leading to major damage.
Emergency crews worked to clear the area, and lane closures were implemented to facilitate the investigation and tow the vehicles involved. As of now, the westbound lane remains partially blocked while authorities assess the scene.
