Two teenagers were following a car crash in Cole County on Saturday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) stated the incident occurred at 1:10 p.m. on 7500 Heritage Highway, heading south.

According to authorities, the 16-year-old driver lost control of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, overcorrecting and veering off the roadway into a tree, where the vehicle overturned.

Two passengers, aged 14 and 15, were in the vehicle at the time of the crash and were transported to University Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The driver reported no injuries. Authorities indicated that one of the passengers was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.

The MSHP is investigating the crash, and no further details are currently available.
