LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car resulted in two fatalities and closed Simmons Street in North Las Vegas on [insert date] at approximately [insert time].
According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, officers responded to the incident near West Carey Avenue and Simmons Street, where both vehicles were reported fully engulfed in flames.
The North Las Vegas Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue extinguished the fire. Preliminary investigations revealed a Dodge Challenger was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it collided with a Freightliner tractor-trailer making a left turn into an industrial complex.
Both drivers suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
