ARLEE, Mont. — A woman and an infant died on Monday night in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 93, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. when a northbound vehicle crossed the double yellow center line, colliding with an oncoming car. Both the woman and the infant were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities stated that alcohol may have contributed to the crash and are examining whether the infant was properly restrained.
The incident is still under investigation, and officials have not released the identities of those involved. U.S. Highway 93 was temporarily closed while emergency responders managed the scene.
