INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A stolen crashed Tuesday night after fleeing a traffic stop on East 38th Street, injuring two people.

The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. at the intersection of East 38th Street and Fall Creek Parkway North Drive, near the Indiana State Fairgrounds. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers initiated a traffic stop but did not pursue the vehicle before it crashed approximately five minutes later at East 38th Street and College Avenue.

Emergency responders transported two individuals from the scene to a local hospital. One person is reported in critical condition, while the other is stable with minor injuries.

A police report identified three suspects involved in the incident; one suspect is 14 years old, another is 15, and the age of the third suspect is listed as “00.” The report also included a guardian's name from Gary.

The SUV, a red 2010 Honda, was confirmed stolen and owned by a resident of Muncie. Its connection to the crash and the suspects remains unclear. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Authorities provided no further details, and an investigation is ongoing.
