Teen Injured in Electric Scooter Collision in Grimes
GRIMES, Iowa — A 14-year-old boy sustained serious leg injuries after being struck by a car while riding an electric scooter on Monday evening.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Northeast Bridge Creek Crossing and Northeast Park Drive. Emergency responders transported the teen to a local hospital for treatment.
The 66-year-old driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and did not report any injuries. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
