One Dead in Newburgh Single-Car Crash
NEWBURGH, ME — One person died in a single-car crash at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, just north of the Exit 174 on-ramp.
According to State Police, the operator, identified as 58-year-old Darcel Geiser of Brewer, was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial reports suggest Geiser was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders from Newburgh Fire Department, LifeFlight of Maine, and the Maine Department of Transportation were on site.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and no additional details are currently available. Lane closures were implemented during the emergency response.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
