SCOTT COUNTY, Ind. — A Scott County sheriff's deputy was injured in a crash on Saturday night while pursuing a fleeing .

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Lovers Lane, just west of Jimtown Road. According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office, the deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle, which was observed driving recklessly in the area. The motorcyclist fled, leading to the deputy's crash during the pursuit.

Authorities reported that the motorcycle did not stop after the crash, and the rider remains unidentified with their whereabouts unknown. The injured deputy was to UofL Hospital; however, their injuries are considered non-life-threatening. The deputy's name will be withheld until family members have been notified.
