Salem Bicyclist Critically Injured in Collision with Vehicle Thursday Evening
SALEM, MA — A 59-year-old bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of North and Lynde streets around 7:20 p.m. on Thursday.
Emergency responders transported the man to Salem Hospital before transferring him to a Boston area hospital, where he remains in critical condition, authorities said.
The 79-year-old driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. It is currently unclear if any charges will be filed.
The incident is under investigation by Salem Police detectives and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
