DENVER — A crash early Sunday morning on 16th Street resulted in the death of a pedestrian, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:16 a.m. at the intersection of 16th and Market. Suspect Milton McBride, 27, allegedly drove through a parking garage gate on 15th Street before colliding with a vehicle, losing control of his pickup truck, and striking an electronic kiosk, which then fell onto the victim.

The victim's identity has not yet been released and was at the scene. Surveillance footage reportedly captured McBride fleeing from his red pickup truck after the crash, as bystanders reacted.

During a subsequent search, police located a Ziplock bag containing a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, in McBride's pants pocket. A blood test was conducted at Denver Health Medical Center.

McBride has been arrested and is being held for investigation of vehicular homicide. The electronic kiosks on 16th Street, installed in 2015, include two 65-inch screens displaying local business directories and advertising.

The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
