COLLINWOOD TOWNSHIP, MN — One dead, one hospitalized following a crash early Sunday morning.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred just after 3 a.m. near County Road 6 and 746th Avenue. A vehicle traveling west on County Road 6 left the roadway and struck a phone pole.
Both individuals in the vehicle had to be extricated. The passenger, identified as 19-year-old Nolan Henke, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was airlifted to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details about road closures or the response from emergency services have been released at this time.
