CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — Two students died and more than 20 were injured in a multi-vehicle crash near Highway 70 on Friday, March 27, 2026.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Clarksville-Montgomery County School System bus carrying Kenwood Middle School students and staff collided with a Tennessee Department of Transportation dump truck and a Chevrolet Trailblazer near Highway 70 and Cedar Grove.
Authorities said two 8th-grade students were killed. More than 20 occupants were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
THP reported 29 people were on the bus, including 24 students.
Video obtained by FOX 17 News shows the bus crossing the centerline before striking the TDOT truck, which caught fire, and the bus then leaving the roadway and hitting a tree.
THP identified the school bus driver as Sabrina R. Ducksworth. No citations or charges have been announced.
The National Transportation Safety Board is conducting an independent investigation, examining driver performance, student occupant protection and oversight of school transportation operations, authorities said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No information on lane closures or tows was immediately released.
