FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on Alkire Rd. at approximately 3:33 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, a black 2017 Cadillac ATS traveling northbound and a brown 2010 Toyota Venza traveling southbound collided in the center of the roadway near 6337 Alkire Rd.
Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded, along with fire and medic units from Prairie and Pleasant Townships.
The Cadillac's driver, the only occupant, was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The Toyota's driver, the only occupant, was transported and later pronounced dead.
As of about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the roadway remained closed for cleanup and the investigation was ongoing, according to the Sheriff's Office.
