One in Custody After Police Officer-Involved Crash in St. Joseph County
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — A driver is in custody following a collision with a police officer on Saturday night.
According to authorities, the incident occurred as an officer was traveling south on Ironwood when another vehicle attempted to turn onto Dunn Road. The vehicle pulled out in front of the officer, resulting in the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle fled but was later apprehended inside a nearby residence. Officials suspect that alcohol may have contributed to the incident.
The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
