One Dead in Aiken Multi-Vehicle Crash
AIKEN, SC — A North Carolina woman has died following a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 20 on August 10.
Authorities reported the incident occurred in the westbound lane at the 30-mile marker early Tuesday morning. Passengers were involved in the crash, which resulted in one fatality.
The victim, 46-year-old Clarice McNeil of Lexington, North Carolina, was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene at 6:41 a.m.
The Aiken County Coroner's Office, along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team, are conducting an investigation.
An autopsy for McNeil is scheduled to take place in Newberry.
No further details regarding other injuries or vehicle involvement have been released.
