AIKEN, SC — One person died in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate-20 early August 10, authorities reported.
At approximately 6:41 a.m., the Aiken County Coroner's Office responded to the westbound lanes at mile marker 30. The crash involved multiple vehicles and resulted in one fatality.
Clarice McNeil, 46, of Lexington, North Carolina, was identified as a passenger in one of the vehicles. She was ejected during the incident and pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. An autopsy is scheduled to take place in Newberry.
