HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WTVF) — A Hopkinsville man has been arrested and charged with murder following a fatal crash on October 24, 2025.
According to the Christian County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a collision report on Lovers Lane near Romeo Drive at approximately 9:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a 77-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators later reported that blood tests from the Kentucky State Police Crime Laboratory revealed Douglas Jones, the driver of one of the vehicles involved, had a blood alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit at the time of the incident.
Following this evidence, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Jones, who was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Christian County Jail on charges of Murder and First-Degree Wanton Endangerment.
