LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A motorcycle crash on a Louisville interstate ramp resulted in the death of a man Monday night.
Around 9:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) Eighth Division officers responded to the incident on the ramp from Interstate 71 South to the Watterson Expressway West. Upon arrival, officers discovered a crashed motorcycle.
According to authorities, the motorcyclist was traveling south on I-71 at high speeds when he lost control on a wet roadway. He was ejected from the motorcycle near the start of a construction zone.
Emergency medical services transported the man to UofL Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is currently investigating the incident.
