A vehicle struck a tree on SW Washburn Avenue just north of SW 19th Street early on the morning of Sept. 4, leading to lane closures during rush hour.
Two occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response ambulance with injuries assessed as non-life-threatening, according to Kim Qualls, senior public relations specialist for Topeka's city government.
Topeka Police responded to the incident just after 5:25 a.m. The collision site is located near Washburn University.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities have implemented yellow crime scene tape to secure the area. No additional details regarding the vehicle or cause of the accident have been confirmed at this time.
