Medway crash claims the life of 83-year-old Mr. Yuk Foo Chan on Milford Street.

Medway, MA – An 83-year-old man was killed in a accident Tuesday night on Milford Street, prompting a prolonged roadway closure.

Yuk Foo Chan, of West Roxbury, was struck by a vehicle at approximately 7:50 p.m., according to Medway Police. Witnesses reported the incident occurred near Green Street while Chan was riding his pedal .

Authorities said the eastbound vehicle continued after the collision but the driver remained cooperative with law enforcement upon their arrival. Milford Police were first on the scene around 8 p.m., administering aid to Chan, who sustained significant injuries. He was later transported to Milford Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Medway Police extended their gratitude to first responders and local departments for their assistance at the scene. “We recognize the immediate efforts to provide emergency care,” they stated, offering condolences to Chan's family.

The name of the driver has not been released as the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made. It remains uncertain if charges will be filed.

The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section is assisting local authorities with the investigation. Milford Street was closed between Clark Street and Green Street until about 11:35 p.m., with police advising drivers to seek alternative routes during the emergency response.
