LOS ANGELES – A fire hydrant burst, causing a gas station roof to collapse early Friday morning in Tarzana.

Firefighters responded to the incident at approximately 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Garden Grove Avenue. Upon arrival, crews found the area flooded with a geyser from the hydrant damaging the gas station’s awning and pump, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities reported that a vehicle struck the hydrant, leading to the incident. The cause of the initial collision remains under investigation. No injuries have been reported.

Roads in the vicinity were closed for several hours but have since reopened for normal traffic flow.
