ISP Investigates US 30 Crash Near New Plymouth.

New Plymouth, Idaho (CBS2) — Idaho State Police (ISP) are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on August 25, 2026.

The collision took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of US30 and Southeast Second Avenue, south of New Plymouth. According to police, a 2020 Tacoma, driven by a 25-year-old woman with a juvenile passenger, and a 1994 Yamaha XJ600 , ridden by a 33-year-old man, were traveling northbound on US30. The Tacoma slowed to turn west onto Southeast Second Avenue, prompting the Yamaha rider to cross into oncoming traffic, where he collided with the Tacoma's driver's side.

The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital, where he died on August 30. The occupants of the Tacoma reported no injuries. Authorities noted that both the Tacoma's driver and juvenile passenger were properly secured, and the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

US30 was closed in both directions for approximately one hour while emergency responders addressed the situation and cleared the scene, ISP reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
