MEDFORD, MA — A chain reaction crash involving an MBTA occurred on the Fellsway at approximately 11 a.m. on September 10, 2026.

The bus, which was out of service, rear-ended a vehicle stopped at an intersection, pushing it into another . It continued on to strike a parked vehicle before veering into a residential front lawn.

Authorities confirmed that the bus driver, 62, and two others were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to an MBTA spokesperson, “We are extremely grateful no one was seriously injured or worse,” highlighting the potential severity of the incident.

The crash involved a total of six vehicles, including the bus. Witnesses reported extensive damage, with a broken utility pole resting across an SUV's hood.

Emergency response units from Medford Fire and Police were on the scene, managing the situation and providing medical aid. Transit Police Accident Reconstructionists are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
