BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — One driver was injured in a crash involving a semi-truck and a Jeep on Interstate 84 east of Boise Friday evening.
The incident occurred on Aug. 7, 2026, at approximately 7:28 p.m. on eastbound I-84 near milepost 66. According to authorities, a 2026 Peterbilt driven by a 31-year-old man from Tulsa, Oklahoma, left the roadway and struck a stationary 2009 Jeep Wrangler parked on the right shoulder, occupied by a 40-year-old man from Boise.
The Peterbilt came to rest in a field south of the shoulder, while the Jeep tipped onto its passenger side. A small brush fire ignited but was quickly extinguished by emergency responders.
The Jeep driver was transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital with injuries. The Peterbilt driver was uninjured. Both drivers were reported to be wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Emergency crews closed the right eastbound lane of I-84 to facilitate scene clearance. Updates on lane closures can be found at 511.idaho.gov.
The Idaho State Police is leading the ongoing investigation, with assistance from Ada County Paramedics, the Boise Fire Department, the Ada County Sheriff's Office, the Boise Police Department, and the Idaho State Transportation Department.
