A Greenville teen is facing multiple charges after a vehicle collision seriously injured a man not involved in a parking lot dispute on Stantonsburg Road.

According to Greenville Police, 18-year-old Sharon Lenise Strong was arrested on Saturday, September 5, and is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, communicating threats, disorderly conduct, and injury to personal property.

Authorities said the incident began with a verbal altercation involving Strong and another woman in the parking lot. Investigators allege Strong threatened the woman, then entered a Nissan Sentra and put the vehicle in motion.

Records indicate that Strong exited the moving vehicle, causing it to strike the passenger door of a Durango, which pinned a nearby man between the door and its frame.

The man, who was not involved in the altercation, sustained upper- and lower-body injuries and required medical attention. The collision also caused property damage exceeding $200 to the Durango.

Strong is currently held without bond at the Pitt County Detention Center, with her first court appearance scheduled for Tuesday, September 8.
