AMARILLO, Texas — A fuel truck struck the ABC 7 studios around 12:30 a.m. at Southeast 11th Avenue and Pierce Street, authorities said.
According to police, the driver of a Dodge Ram 2500 ran a red light at Southeast 11th Avenue and Pierce Street.
Authorities said the southbound fuel truck on Pierce hit the driver's side of the pickup, pushing it over the curb, through the station's security fence and into the parking lot.
The fuel truck then hit a steel support beam at the building's northwest corner, and part of the security fence went through a window, according to KVII.
The fuel truck driver was not hurt. Authorities said the pickup's driver and two passengers fled on foot; police have identified the driver.
His parents later came to the scene after he called them about the crash, police said.
The crash was captured on station cameras, according to KVII. No lane closures, tows or additional injuries were immediately reported.
