HOT SPRINGS, AR – A four-car collision on Arkansas Highway 7 injured a Garland County sheriff's deputy and another driver Tuesday at 11 a.m.
A logging truck traveling south failed to stop in time and rear-ended the deputy's marked vehicle near the roundabout. The impact caused the deputy's vehicle to strike a white Hyundai, which subsequently collided with a commercial vehicle, sustaining minor damage.
Both the deputy and the driver of the Hyundai were transported to the hospital by Pafford EMS. According to Sheriff's Office Captain Scotty Dodd, both individuals are conscious, but their injuries remain unspecified.
“It appears the logging truck was at fault,” Dodd stated. The Arkansas State Police are investigating the incident, with skid marks and vehicle damage indicating potential negligence.
Authorities noted that the deputy was en route to an off-duty assignment at the time of the crash. Additional details about lane closures or vehicle tow status were not immediately available.
