Fort Worth police pursuit concludes with fatal crash early Sunday morning.

Fort Worth, TX – A vehicle pursuit by Fort Worth Police around 2:34 a.m. ended in a fatal crash on Tarver Road.

According to police, officers first noticed a vehicle traveling without headlights on I-35 near Rosedale Street. The driver failed to stop when officers attempted a traffic stop and fled southbound on Interstate 35.

During the chase, the suspect vehicle struck another but continued to evade officers. The pursuit concluded when the suspect exited the highway near Tarver Road.

Police lost sight of the vehicle temporarily, but eventually located it off the roadway in the 1500 block of Tarver Road, where it had crashed.

Inside, officers found two men; the passenger was reported to have minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, while the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No injuries to officers or other citizens were reported during the pursuit or crash.

The Fort Worth Police Department's Traffic Investigations Unit and Major Case Unit are investigating the incident. Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances leading to the pursuit and crash. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the deceased and determine the official cause and manner of death.
