MERRIMACK, N.H. — The Everett Turnpike reopened shortly after a crash involving a tractor-trailer brought down power lines on Monday afternoon.

According to New Hampshire State Police, the incident occurred just after 1 p.m., when the truck struck overhead wires. The downed lines ignited a brush fire on the southbound side of the highway.

Officials confirmed that two vehicles were affected by the falling wires. One driver was evaluated for minor injuries at a local hospital.

Emergency crews responded swiftly, extinguishing the fire and clearing the roadway. The northbound lanes reopened by 2 p.m., followed by the southbound lanes at 2:15 p.m.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
