LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash on the Indiana Toll Road from Monday morning.
The incident involved a single box truck with two occupants traveling westbound. For unknown reasons, the driver left the roadway, entered the grassy median, and the vehicle overturned.
Driver Neda Maketa, 17, of Haslet, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene. Family has been notified. A male passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to Parkview Lagrange Hospital.
According to authorities, there is no evidence that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The Indiana State Police Critical Incident Reconstruction Team is conducting the investigation.
