SAN ANTONIO – A driver was killed in a crash on the North Side early Tuesday morning after their SUV went airborne and struck multiple vehicles.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on West Bitters Road near Blanco Road.
According to police, a white SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a curb and then an embankment, causing it to become airborne.
The SUV breached a wooden fence, collided with several vehicles, and toppled two covered parking structures before rolling onto its side and catching fire.
Authorities reported that the driver was found deceased inside the vehicle. No other injuries were confirmed at the scene.
Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
