PORT SHELDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A rollover crash early Wednesday morning resulted in the death of a 21-year-old male driver.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of Van Buren Street and 152nd Avenue in a construction zone. The westbound lane of Van Buren was closed and covered in sand, while the eastbound lane had gravel.
Officials indicated the driver was traveling west in the closed lane when he lost control while switching from the gravel to the sand. The vehicle rolled over, resulting in the driver being ejected.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Ottawa County Central Dispatch Authority at (800) 249-0911 or submit a tip through the Silent Observer platform.
