Crystal Springs Man Killed in I-55 Crash
COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. — A 27-year-old man died in a crash on Interstate 55 on Thursday afternoon.
Anthony Antoine McKnight Jr. was driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee when his vehicle left the roadway around 4 p.m. near the 51-mile marker in Copiah County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP).
Reports indicate that McKnight's vehicle crashed into a tree, resulting in fatal injuries. Authorities confirmed that McKnight was pronounced dead at the scene.
The MHP is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. No additional details on potential lane closures or tow responses have been released at this time.
