Crash Blocks All Southbound Lanes on Rancho Drive Near Vegas Drive.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A bicyclist is dead following a crash involving a vehicle driven by a suspected impaired driver on Friday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Rancho Drive and Sunset Drive, shutting down all southbound lanes. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the cyclist was traveling east on Sunset and reportedly disobeyed a stop sign.

Authorities stated a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup struck the cyclist, who was transported to University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Max Figueroa, remained at the scene and exhibited signs of impairment, leading to his arrest on suspicion of DUI.

The crash is under investigation by LVMPD. This incident marks the 28th traffic-related fatality in the department's jurisdiction this year.
