Crash After Shooting: Tyler Robinson Charged with Murder

ST. GEORGE, Utah (TNND) — Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested on charges of aggravated murder following a September 10 incident on a college campus.

According to police footage from 2022, Robinson interacted with officers after a crash in St. George, describing how the accident occurred. He was cooperative during the exchange, even joking about his vehicle.

Robinson's family has stated he was radicalized, with Utah Governor Spencer Cox noting his connections to dark online communities. Authorities indicated that a family member reached out to friends, revealing Robinson implied he was the suspect in the shooting.

Investigators identified Robinson after his father recognized him in photographs released by the FBI during their search for the shooter. Additionally, his roommate provided messages from a Discord chat discussing a rifle and related items.

Robinson was apprehended after a 33-hour manhunt and is facing multiple charges, including felony discharge of a firearm and capital obstruction of justice. Officials have announced plans to seek the death penalty for Robinson.
