BOISE BENCH, Idaho — A juvenile boy died Thursday night after an e-bike collided with a motorcycle on the Boise Bench, according to Boise Police.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Phillippi Street and Morris Hill Road.

The 15-year-old boy, identified by the Ada County Coroner as Sterling Thomas, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but was shortly after arrival, despite lifesaving efforts.

A juvenile girl riding on the e-bike sustained minor injuries, while the adult male motorcycle rider was with serious, non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Police reported that the motorcycle was traveling northbound when the collision occurred with the two juveniles heading westbound on a 750-watt electric with pedals.

The Ada County Coroner ruled the cause of death as traumatic blunt force injuries, classifying the incident as an accident.

Detectives from the Boise Police Criminal Investigation Division and the Crash Reconstruction Team are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The intersection remained closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic as investigators processed the scene.
