WASHINGTON (7NEWS) — A child was critically injured in a hit-and-run involving an ATV in Northwest D.C. on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred around 6:52 p.m. at the intersection of 14th Street and Chapin Street, NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Officers found a young boy who had been struck while riding his bicycle.
Emergency crews transported the child to a hospital with critical injuries. Authorities reported the boy was unconscious but breathing when they arrived.
The driver of the ATV fled the scene. Witnesses described the suspect as a man with dreadlocks, dressed in all black, riding a lime green and white ATV.
