A woman was hospitalized after a rollover crash in Moniteau County on Monday afternoon.
The California Fire Department (CFD) responded to Route T, south of Genny Road, following the incident reported around 2 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a 2016 Honda CRV was traveling south when it left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle on its side with a 68-year-old female driver from California, Mo., trapped inside.
Crews stabilized the vehicle and used extrication tools to remove part of the roof, freeing the driver safely.
She sustained moderate injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to University Hospital.
MSHP confirmed the woman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Authorities emphasized the importance of seatbelt use, stating, “No matter how short the trip may be, always wear your seat belt. It can save your life.”
