Four Hospitalized in Brooklyn Park Crash Involving Police Squad Car
BROOKLYN PARK, MN — Four individuals were hospitalized following a collision involving a police squad car on Wednesday at approximately 3:20 p.m.
According to Brooklyn Park Police, the incident occurred at the intersection of 85th Avenue North and Zane Avenue North. The squad car was responding to an emergency call, lights and siren activated, when it was struck by a Chevy Equinox traveling south on Zane Avenue.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the collision caused the squad car to roll over and subsequently hit a Toyota Highlander that was stationary at the intersection. Two occupants from the squad car and two from the Equinox sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Emergency response teams remained on the scene, and video footage showed the squad car being towed away. The Minnesota State Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
