Bicyclist killed in Stoughton crash with pickup truck; driver arrested.

STOUGHTON, Wis. (WKOW) — One person has died at an area hospital after being struck by a pickup truck while riding a Tuesday night.

The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Highway 51 near Main Street. Authorities said the 35-year-old cyclist was transported to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to injuries shortly after arrival.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 42-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to the Stoughton Police Department. No charges have been filed at this time.

Emergency responders from the Stoughton Fire Department and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene. Highway 51 was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation and cleanup.
