Bicyclist killed in Stoughton collision with pickup truck, driver arrested.

STOUGHTON, Wis. — A tragic incident occurred Tuesday night in Stoughton, resulting in the death of a 74-year-old bicyclist after being struck by a pickup truck. The collision took place shortly after 7 p.m. on North Page Street, close to the intersection with Johnson Street.

According to a post from the Stoughton Police Department on Facebook, the driver involved, 60-year-old Blas A. Urbina, has been arrested on charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. He has since been taken to the Dane County Jail.

Authorities noted that drug impaired driving was likely a significant factor contributing to the crash. The incident remains under investigation by both the Stoughton Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
