Auburn Man Dies in SUV Crash Following Vehicle Theft

AUBURN, ME – A 36-year-old man was found dead Saturday morning after a vehicle crash linked to a reported theft.

Robert Brown Jr. was discovered in an overturned 2011 Toyota Highlander SUV off East Hebron Road in Turner. The vehicle had been stolen from an Auburn residence Friday night.

Authorities said Brown was driving east when he missed a sharp turn near Dow Farm Road. The SUV struck several trees before overturning. He was at the scene.

Investigators are looking into speed and alcohol as potential factors in the crash. Turner Fire and Rescue assisted the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office during the investigation.
