HAMPTON, Va. — A shooting at the intersection of West Mercury Boulevard and North Armistead Avenue led to a crash on Wednesday night, according to Hampton police.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. when unknown suspects exited their vehicle and shot at another nearby, police reported.

Authorities arrived to find several vehicles involved in a crash, one of which sustained damage from gunfire. No injuries were reported from the crash.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspects approached the targeted and opened fire multiple times, leading to the ensuing crash. Witnesses reported that the shooters fled the scene before police arrived.
