Hebron Man Dies in Minot Collision
A Hebron man was killed early Tuesday in a motor vehicle crash on Center Minot Hill Road.
According to the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup, traveling northbound, crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound Mercury minivan driven by Jonathan Spoffard, 48, also of Hebron. Authorities responded to the scene at around 5:35 a.m. and pronounced Spoffard dead at the location.
Minot Fire personnel, with assistance from the Auburn Fire Department, extricated Spoffard from the vehicle. The driver of the pickup, Dylan Conlon, 39, of Norway, was unharmed in the incident.
The collision occurred in the 700 block of Center Minot Hill Road, prompting a closure of the roadway between Marston Hill Road and Woodman Hill Road for nearly five hours during the investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
