Driver Killed in Collision with CT Transit Bus in New Haven
NEW HAVEN, CT — A driver was pronounced dead following a collision with a CT Transit bus on Friday afternoon at the intersection of Middletown Avenue and Front Street, according to fire officials.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. The driver of the vehicle was extricated from the wreckage and transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Seven passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment, authorities said.
The intersection is expected to remain closed for an extended period as the investigation continues. Emergency services responded promptly, and tow crews were called to remove the vehicles involved.
