GRAFTON, MA – A Massachusetts State Police trooper died from injuries sustained in an off-duty crash on Route 122 at Milford Road around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Trooper Jacob Mick, 31, of Northborough, was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle. He was at the scene, according to the Worcester District Attorney's Office. The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to UMass Lakeside Medical Center and is expected to survive.

Massachusetts State Police Colonel Geoffrey Noble expressed condolences, stating, “Together, we mourn Trooper Jacob Mick… He was a proud Trooper and public servant.” Mick was a recent graduate of the Massachusetts State Police Academy, having completed his training in 2023.

Grafton police confirmed the incident via social media, noting the presence of officers at the crash site but did not immediately disclose details regarding the motorcycle's involvement.

The crash is under investigation by Grafton police, the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, and state police detectives assigned to the district attorney's office. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is also involved in the investigation.

State Representative David Muradian announced a meeting this week with officials from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and local leaders to discuss the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Further details will be provided as the investigation continues.
