83-Year-Old Mineral Point Man Dies in UTV Crash in Town of Linden.

TOWN OF LINDEN, Wis. (WKOW) — An 83-year-old man from Mineral Point died following a UTV crash in the Town of Linden on Sunday morning.

According to the Iowa County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred at 7:50 a.m. on Shepherd Road. Preliminary investigations indicate that Gary Hamilton was operating a UTV while spraying weeds on a hillside when the vehicle struck a tree stump, leading to it overturning and pinning him beneath.

Authorities reported that Hamilton was not wearing a safety restraint or personal protective gear during the operation of the UTV. Emergency responders attempted to free Hamilton and initiated life-saving measures. UW Med Flight was dispatched to the scene for assistance.

Despite these efforts, Hamilton was at the scene by the Iowa County coroner. The investigation into the crash is being led by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
