Hooksett, NH — A Maine man was injured early Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on Interstate 293.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. when the driver, a 42-year-old male from Maine, crossed the median into oncoming traffic. His vehicle collided with a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.
Both the driver and the 65-year-old male driver of the pickup were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Authorities reported that both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders from the Hooksett Fire Department and New Hampshire State Police were on the scene to assist and manage traffic. The left lane was closed for approximately two hours while the scene was cleared and an investigation began.
As of now, no charges have been filed, pending further investigation. Authorities cautioned drivers to stay vigilant in the area due to ongoing roadwork that may affect traffic patterns.
